Meditation 101: The Science of Meditation and the Four Noble Truths
April 26- June 19,2020; meets every Sunday and Wednesday day 9:30am- 10:30am (CST)
This 8 week ZOOM course serves as an introduction to meditation. The primary goal of the course is to help participants create a daily sitting practice. We will discuss the health benefits of meditation, and the way it modifies our awareness and our brains. The class will discuss the four noble truths, the first teachings given by the Buddha.
Each class will consist of 30 min of sitting practice and 30 min of homework discussion.
The class will have weekly articles and videos to be watched and read prior to class. The class will also be asked to keep a weekly mediation journal.
